THE DESCRIPTION:
The object of the game is to fill your screen with animated blowfish. To create a blowfish, tap the screen. To inflate the blowfish, continue to press your finger after the blowfish is created. Once you’ve filled 2/3 of your screen, you move on to the next level. You are given a limited number of blowfish (lives) and limited time for each level. Spiky sea urchins and other blowfish can cause your blowfish to pop. Once you have popped too many blowfish, the game is over.
THE GOOD:
It’s similar in concept to “Jezzball,” but instead of building walls, you inflate blowfish under water. Game play is easy to learn, and your blowfish friends are pretty cute.
THE BAD:
Keeping track of the tiny sea urchins under your big index finger can get frustrating, but that must be part of the challenge, right?
THE BOTTOM LINE:
Blowfish is a simple, familiar concept enhanced with a fun, oceanic theme. If you’re in the mood for something mindless and pleasant, try it out. It didn’t hold my interest for too long, but it didn’t cost a thing, either. Those who are looking for fishing simulators would be better off using “Fishing Frenzy.”
