THE DESCRIPTION:
Handy Fact is an eclectic reference database containing “handy” facts and information organized by section. The A-Z list of 22 categories includes Proper Etiquette, Measurement Conversion, Time Zones, Health info, etc.
THE GOOD:
This is a collection of practical and useful information presented in a very simple format. You can distinguish frequently confused words, clarify U.S. state abbreviations, or read standard outline of FDIC Insurance basics in one application. All of the content is organized alphabetically and very straightforwardly.
THE BAD:
The information is subjective and random in places; who is going to follow a year-by-year guide for anniversary gifts or rely on this application to improve their drinking habits? There is also no way to search for what you’re looking for or bookmark information – you’re stuck browsing through the alphabetical lists and bulleted content. On a visual level, the interface is very bare and resembles a low-grade power point presentation.
THE BOTTOM LINE:
You’re looking at a solid concept with a cursory execution; a mishmash of useful facts you should know in an application that disregards the user. There are quite a few reference apps with specialized information on one subject and this is just the opposite. If you want a commonsense reference guide for whenever curiosity strikes, it’s worth a try. The wikiHow application serves as more of a how-to survival kit and Answers by Yahoo! offers a Q&A format if you prefer.
