THE DESCRIPTION:
Sol Free is Klondike Solitaire for the iPhone.
THE GOOD:
Sol Free comes with one-card and two-card draw Klondike, as well as a few other variations of Solitaire. Its default settings show the current game’s number of moves, time elapsed, and number of cards left in the draw pile. The playing interface is well designed – elegant and non-distracting. Sol Free also offers all the standard in-game actions that a surprising number of Solitaire apps don’t: auto-placing card, undoing moves, and restarting the game with the same deal.
THE BAD:
Unfortunately, viewing options must be turned off one by one. In addition to the laborious settings menu, sadly, Sol Free does not allow you to drag cards around on the screen with your fingers.
THE BOTTOM LINE:
There are much better solitaire games out there with more games and added features such as card dragging, but they aren’t free. Sol Free does and also comes as a paid version called ‘Solebon’ for $1.99, the only difference being the inclusion of additional solitaire variations. For the simple Klondike player, Sol Free should be perfect.
