THE DESCRIPTION:
Yoga Trainer lets you access yoga poses and workouts by category with audio, photos, instructions and a timer for each pose in a sequence.
THE GOOD:
You can browse workouts by type, including categories such as “Daily Warm-up,” “Advanced Poses,” and “Prenatal Course”. Each pose comes with numbered steps, a photo demonstration, beginners’ tips, and a listing of the benefits of the pose. You can also customize workouts, building your sequences and making your own notes for each pose.
THE BAD:
Unless you have SOME level of familiarity with yoga, this may not be enough to get you going in practice. Portions of the design could use more organization and formatting as well.
THE BOTTOM LINE:
If you’re interested in learning about yoga or getting some new workout ideas, this is a good tool to get started. The app is advertised as a “Trainer,” but a sequence of photos and textual description can hardly replace expert advice, or even video instruction. “Yoga Moves” and “Yoga Deck” are a little more expensive, but they’re also more user-friendly.
