THE DESCRIPTION:
New York Nights: Success in the City is a Sims-like game in which you explore New York, looking for career and life success.
GOOD:
New York Nights has a more direct storyline than the Sims, you must follow a certain procedure in order to unlock new areas and people. You are given 40 game days to become as successful as possible, but you will find that the main part of the game will take you a lot less than that.
THE BAD:
The career mode comes with 7 chapters to complete, but you don’t get many choices that make the story work out. Also, because it is pretty easy to upgrade your stats of your characters, the game becomes pretty easy to beat. Once you have finished the career part, you are allowed to explore NY—and though that sounds like it should be an award, you soon realize that NY in the game has absolutely nothing to do!
THE BOTTOM LINE:
For less than a dollar, the game isn’t too bad, but unless if you’re a die-hard fan of this genre, we cannot wholeheartedly recommend it. With Sims 3 released at around the same time, NY Nights: Success in the City didn’t find the success it was looking for.
