THE DESCRIPTION:
“Fluid” is an interactive, simulated fluid surface accompanied by relaxing music.
THE GOOD:
The surface responds to your touch realistically and you can adjust the speed of its flow. Listen to the music and watch the water move over the rock floor to relax. You can also use photos in your albums to change the standard background.
THE BAD:
The “Entertainment” value here is also pretty limited; there are only so many simulated touch responses to explore. The app is laced with ads for “Fluid 2,” and you must exit and reenter to adjust your settings.
THE BOTTOM LINE:
This is a great demonstration of iPhone’s graphic capability, but there isn’t much beyond that novelty. You may find it useful to briefly distract the kids or to fall asleep, but you probably won’t open the application too often. If you like this concept here, check out “Bubble Wrap,” or upgrade to “Fluid 2” for more features, including a greater number of backgrounds and different types of touch manipulation.
