Eight Glasses a Day

eight glasses_pic2

THE DESCRIPTION:
“Eight Glasses a Day” helps you track your daily water consumption.

THE GOOD:
If you’re conscientious, this is an easy way to track your water consumption. The app starts each day with eight virtual glasses of water shown on the screen. Each time you drink a cup, tap a glass to empty the virtual water. You can also click the back arrow to refill a glass or start over when you finish. It’s very straightforward and easy to use.

THE BAD:
“Eight Glasses a Day” is a limited-scope, unipurpose app. Even though it’s a Healthcare & Fitness application, you won’t find any information about nutrition or the benefits of drinking water. In addition, users must be conscientious about logging their consumption for it to have any purpose. Having to take out your iPhone and tap every time you drink water could get tiresome.

THE BOTTOM LINE:
This is just a polished log for water consumption. It’s reasonably good-looking and has some novelty value. If you make a point to use it, the app might help you develop a good habit. Check out “LoseIt!” for more information about weight loss or “Mr. Counter” to track other activities.
